Road to Happiness

 Road to Happiness

Film - The Happy Movie | The Happy Movie

Happiness is something many people search for every day, but it completely escapes them often. They always believe that life will be theirs if only their circumstances were different. Have you ever had a similar experience? We are always caught up in what I refer to as the "if only." If only my husband treated me well. If only I had a decent career, I'd be happier. If only the kids were grown and out of the home, it will be a lot easier. The list could continue indefinitely.

We can spend a lot of time fantasizing about what could have been if only. Too many people slip into this pit and spend most of their lives unhappy. The issue is that they want satisfaction to find them in any way. It's as if it's something that can be owned. When satisfaction does arrive, it seems to be so brief that it vanishes easily.

People mistakenly believe that pleasure is just a fleeting emotion. I'm here to reassure you that happiness isn't just a state of mind; it can even be a way of life. Happiness will be yours on a regular basis if you only obey a few simple guidelines. To begin, you must live in the present moment. Since yesterday is gone and tomorrow is unknown, you must be present in the present moment. Second, you must exercise control of your emotions and how they flow through your head. Happiness is a state of mind, and the path to happiness is to get your mind in the right place.

I need to swap states if I live in New York and want to visit Florida. I need to make some adjustments in order to get to that point. In this example, we will take the train. We'll arrive at our destination if the train is traveling in the right direction. We must be aware of which train we are in, otherwise, we can find ourselves in an undesirable situation.

Consider this train to be your reflection. Your line of mind, to be precise. You must board the correct train if you do not wish to remain in New York. If you allow some line of thought to enter your mind, you will be led all over the place and never arrive at your desired destination.

The question is, how do we board the correct train? Gratitude is the ticket to being on the right train. Gratitude is a mentality, and if we focus on all of the things we have to be grateful for rather than on our troubles, we can find that we will be whisked away to the state we want.

There is a way to happiness, and it is gratitude.
